Sending copy of a letter from Charles Shrimptonl, M.D. from Paris regarding pyaemia and puerperal fever in Paris; 'Purulent infection is indigenous in this country and owes its origin to the horror of fresh air and cleanliness among all classes of society.' Several London Hospitals have sent her their statistics; 'we are overwhelmed with views at the War Office ... Our chief is dead. Also since Albert is dead too, the Commander in Chief2 has gone to the dogs entirely.'
