4 Aug. 1896
'This is a delightful account of dear Agnes Jones'; but there is a whole side of her character which is not here; 'she felt It a privilege, not a sacrifice, to attend the sick'; Agnes' life was not gloomy; 'It is a great truth that we love those we make happy, whether lovable or not'; 'so much more can be done for Workhouse Infirmary patients especially children than for hospital patients'; one year's training is only the beginning; a good and clever nurse after nursing her old and infirm patients like children, will treat them like reasonable beings.
