MISS A. L. PRINGLE

Claydon
11 Oct. 1884
It is charming how she received the Crown Princess in naturalibus - how many Nurses has she now; nurses are going up the Nile to Wady Halfa; quotes Luther; it is thirty-four years since F.N. was at Wady Halfa - how little she ever thought there would be trained nurses there; how much God has done for India by means of Lord Ripon; F.N. has the very highest reverence for Sir Stafford Northcote - he was one of the very best Ministers at the India office; she cannot see him now he is not at the India Office; but she has hardly done a day's work this last twelve month.
Extract A.L.P.'s notebook GTER. LOND. REC. OFF.
Quoted In Cook, 11, 346-7.
