F.N. has been seeing a good deal of the Probationers lately and it takes a great deal out of her; she has never been used to influence people except by leading in work; 'A more dreadful thing than being cut short by death is being cut short by life in aparalysed static; St. Thomas's needs are frightful; poor Matron was overcome when she related that she had no Sister for Alexandra.
