MRS. WM. SHORE
5 Jan. 1841
Hopes she received pheasants, wild duck and woodcock dispatched last Saturday; wishes her happy New Year and to dear Aunt Evans; hopes weather is not too hard; they have had a good deal of snow; W. has had a nice letter from dear Blanche; they are now staying with the Carters; Papa just left for the Sessions at Winchester, but will join them again at the Nicholsons, where they are going to a little dance; Parthe seems very well now; there are very nice letters about Bertha from Mrs. Millmann; Grandmama will see Papa in February; they have had a succession of friends staying with them, Mr. Dawson, Lady Sitwell and her family; the Carters think Parthe looks stronger; they hear good accounts of Grandmamma and Aunt Evais from Aunt Mai.
