'Calling the Order of Nature: A Sufficient Account of its Cause'; refers to Dr. Carpenter's speech pointing out metaphysical error; 'that Sanitary reform prevents disease is a formula - a metaphysical idea, that is, an idea of my own mind - evolved out of my consciousness, as it were. It is only what I think'; the Positivists would make her laugh, but for civility.
